Hi Menachem,

Thanks for your interest. “God Is The Greatest” represents a new era of contemporary Islamic art and calligraphy. The formation of the figures in the painting form the Arabic words, “Allah” which means God and “Akbar” which means greatest. Both words are in the shape of hearts which bear witness that “Allah Akbar” or “God Is The Greatest.”

The blue background gives the viewer a sense of relaxation, peace and humbleness which are the sentiments that believers deeply feel when they recognize and say Allah Akbar or “God Is The Greatest.” The inspirational formations, colors and creativity in the painting connect subconsciously with this psychological comfort as well, so whether the viewer speaks Arabic or not and understands fully on a conscious level the significance of the formation, the same tranquil state is achieved. After all, visual arts have no need for translation, they are the translators from an artist to the audience.
