Saddam’s Wife Destroyed…

  • [AFP] Graham Hudson’s sculpture (pictured) “Sajida Talfah,” named for Saddam Hussein’s first wife, has been destroyed.
  • [Daily Star, Lebanon] American University of Beirut students perform “The Illustrious Corpse,” which tells of “a good man gone bad” and suggests “‘radicals’ and ‘leftists’ will inevitably become accomplices to state corruption once they become part of it.”
  • [NY Sun] The Hajji Baba Club, “New York’s oldest and best-known carpet club,” are about to get a show at the New York Historical Society, “Woven Splendor From Timbuktu to Tibet.”
  • [Bloomberg] Sikh leaders, believing a suit of armor to be “a sacred relic that belonged to the guru Gobind Singh,” have pressured Sotheby’s to remove it from an auction.
